Actors in International Law
Subjects of international law. Entities that have sovereign rights and obligations under the international law. The most important is – STATES. Traditionally states was the only actors in the international law, only recently we have rights for other types. So states traditionally, even today are the most important actors in international law. Next – international organizations. What we really talking about, especially one organization – UN and different branches of UN. For world health organization other things related to UN. International organizations – they has certain rights – UN has certain rights and responsibilities as well. NGOs- we are talking about the Greenpeace and things like that- these become more important in the last 50 years. They also has a rights to place in international law. Individuals – mostly talking about human rights and some other rights used by individuals that they have. And finally, about international corporations – some corporations are arguable more important than some states.
