Does Tibet have a right to self determination?
Ištrauka
A man, who lives in a sovereign state, probably rarely thinks about what it is like to live in oppression imposed by other country with different culture and social norms. Although, these questions may arise while talking about the People’s Republic of China and Tibet’s disagreements. This conflict, concerning Tibet’s independence, is almost over 100 years long. The solution for this issue is being proposed by both China and Tibet, however, countries can not reach a consensus for that. China’s arguments are based on historical view, while Tibet’s arguments are guided by jurisdiction. In this essay I will analyse both countrie’s positions in this case: Tibet’s position that every state has a right to self-determination and China’s position that Tibet has always been an integral part of China.
