Ištrauka

Black holes are one of the most fascinating things in the entire universe and still they remain as one of the biggest mysteries to humanity. The first person to come up with an idea of a black hole was Karl Schwarzschild in 1916, however, only in 1958 did David Finkelstein publish that a black hole was a region of space-time from which nothing could escape. From what we know black holes are massive objects in space that are made from the destruction of a star. Black holes are capable of bending space, destroying planets, stars and even universes. Although slowly, the black holes disappear over time, due to a process called Hawking radiation. It will take a googlion of years for the first black hole to disappear from the universe. That said, black holes will also be the last objects in space, however we won't be around since space will have become uninhabitable long before.

Black holes are among the weirdest things in astronomy. Black hole is a place in space where gravity pulls so much that even light can not get out. The gravity is so strong because matter has been squeezed into a tiny space. This can happen when a star is dying. Because no light can get out, people can’t see black holes. They are invisible. Space telescopes with special tools can help find black holes. The special tools can see how stars that are very close to black holes act differently than other stars.
