Should we have homework in schools?
Ištrauka
Many children today have to spend hours every evening doing homework. Although education is important and helps students reach success later in life, many people nowadays think that homework is useless, as they endure enough stress in school as it is. There are two sides to any argument, so this essay will examine the positive and negative aspects of homework and discuss its benefits for schoolchildren.
On the one hand, homework is a necessity. Students need to practice what they learnt in school. They need to sit down and revise over their new material until they fully understand the information. For example, if students do not revise or even attempt to learn something new, there is a bigger chance of them failing their exams and not being able to finish school and go to university. Also, homework teaches responsibility. The responsibilities of homework mirror the responsibilities adults face at work and at home every day. For instance, after school, a student’s job is to complete their homework, but an adult’s job consists of cooking meals, cleaning the house, etcetera. Furthermore, homework is beneficial for the students who plan on passing their exams.
