Today Im going to talk about the development of vaccine against smallpox. It is a disease caused by a poxvirus that is transmitted from person to person that causes high fever, characteristic rash, and may kill about one-third of those infected. In modern times we do not have to worry about it thanks to the remarkable work of Edward Jenner and later developments from his endeavors.
