The history of bikes

The invention of a bicycle lasted for a long time by efforts of many people. Thousands of people from various countries of the world tried to invent a bicycle. To some of them belong ideas, to others belong realization. The first idea was to replace a horse.

German baron Karl Drais is recognized a bicycle inventor because in 1816 he was the first who patented a bicycle cycled from Leipcig to Drezden. That bicycle was not like ours because it had no pedals, but it had two wheels of the same diameter. If he wanted to cycle it he needed to rest his feet against the ground.

He invented this means of transport in order to make easier travels to his work.
